DAILY DEVOTIONAL- THE MAN OF GOD

Saul, with his servant, went to seek his father’s lost donkeys. After a period of time, Saul thought to go back home in case his father became worried, but his servant suggested that they should go see the Prophet Samuel; surely this man of God could help them. A prophet had the spiritual ability to hear from God.

There are no prophets today like those in the Bible, but there are those who proclaim God’s Word like the prophets did. In the pulpits across America and the world, there are men of God who are called to preach the Gospel and teach the body of Christ how to grow in the Lord as Christians. They teach them the Word of God.

Understand, pastors are like faithful shepherds who watch over their sheep. In the Book of Jeremiah, God told His people:
“…I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding”

(Jeremiah 3:15). Peter denied Jesus when He was arrested and crucified, but after Christ’s Resurrection, the Lord restored Peter’s life. He called him into the ministry as a shepherd. Jesus said to Peter:

“Feed My sheep”

(John 21:17).

How does Jesus see people? …like sheep having no shepherd. (Matthew 9:36). Jesus is called the
Shepherd and Overseer of our souls (1 Peter 2:25). King David declared:
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want

(Psalm 23:1). Is Jesus Christ the Shepherd of your soul?
For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand.

Psalm 95:7
