We become hopeless during many troubling circumstances in our lives. In our daily life when we have the fear of God, we will have hope in Him, that He is for us and not against us. We should faithfully follow His statutes and strive to do all that is pleasing in His sight. Then, God will fill us with His Holy Spirit, which will make us holy and righteous. This will give us new strength that is required to face every trail that arises due to our holiness.
In the Bible, we read many such examples of people who placed their trust in the Lord and God’s presence was with them always. David held on to God as his only hope and encouraged himself, in the Lord. Hezekiah had a great strife in life, but he leaned upon God only and there was no king before or after him, that had such a great faith in God. Sennacherib, a great king of Assyria, came against Kingdom of Israel and thought of overthrowing it in a very easy way. Hezekiah leaned upon God and wept bitterly, and confessed that every nation must know that God is a true God. God heard his prayers and sent his angel which smote the Assyrian camp, in the morning the people of Israel saw dead corpses around the camp. God brought a complete end to Sennacherib just as how David says that “God will fight our battles”. No man can raise hands against God nor his servant. There is nothing too hard for the Lord, whatever God commands it shall happen.
SCRIPTURE to LIFE
Do you fear the Lord? If you truly fear the Lord then it will reflect in all your decisions and walks of life. When you fear the Lord you will be blessed with His wisdom and confidence. He will fight your battles. But you need to live a God-fearing life. That doesn’t imply that you fear God for His wrath, rather you fear God so that whatever you do, should be pleasing and acceptable in His sight. God loves you and wants to bless you always. Therefore, lead a watchful life, so that you do not displease Him but your life brings Him glory and honor.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father! Teach me to be fearful of you. I want to change my life according to your will. Grant me Your grace to resist the worldly temptations. Help me to receive divine wisdom and confidence. Thank you for fighting my battles and granting me victory.
In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen
